We’re one week into our 21 Day Devotional Challenge, and this week we’re moving from understanding who we are in Christ to learning how to live like it’s true.

Throughout September, our church is walking through Live Free, a 21-day devotional from Pastor Micah built around the Five Lakes Freedom Declaration. Each day includes Scripture, a short devotional, a reflection question, prayer, and an opportunity to go deeper. The goal isn’t simply to finish 21 readings. It’s to spend intentional time allowing God’s truth to shape the way we think and live.

Week Two: The Old Is Gone

Week One focused on our identity in Christ: we are new creations, adopted into God’s family, filled with His Spirit, and no longer defined by our past.

Now Week Two asks an important question:

What changes when we actually begin to believe those things are true?

This week focuses on renewing our minds, recognizing the lies we’ve believed, and replacing them with the truth of God’s Word.

One of the readings puts it this way:

“Freedom isn’t found by trying harder to ignore the lie. It’s found by letting God’s truth speak louder than it does, deliberately and repeatedly, until the lie loses its grip.”

That’s a powerful reminder because some of the things shaping us may not even feel like lies anymore. They may sound like facts about who we are, what we’re capable of, or what our past says about our future.

But Jesus gets the final word.

As we continue through Week Two, we’re asking God to help us recognize old patterns, reject false identities, renew our minds with truth, and live in the freedom Christ has already given us.

It’s Not Too Late to Join Us

If you missed a day, don’t worry about catching up perfectly. Just pick back up. And if you haven’t started the challenge yet, you can still jump in.

Live Free is designed for short, daily time with God, and the challenge is about building a rhythm of returning to His truth again and again.

Let’s keep going, Five Lakes. The lies are broken. The chains are loosed. Let’s learn to live like it’s true!
