Kids Block Party Brings the Community Together

What a night.

On May 31, nearly 1,000 people joined us for our annual Kids Block Party, turning a simple summer evening into one of the biggest family events of the year.

Families filled the campus as kids bounced, climbed, raced, played, and explored their way through the evening. From giant inflatables and obstacle courses to face painting and the petting zoo, there was always a line for the next adventure.

One of the biggest hits of the night? The dunk tank.

Pastor Sam spent a good portion of the evening getting dropped into the water by kids who were more than happy to test their aim. It quickly became one of the most popular stops at the event.

The petting zoo was another favorite, featuring an alpaca, bunnies, chickens, and a pony. For many kids, it was their first chance to get up close with some of the animals.

Families also enjoyed food and treats from local vendors, including Deet's BBQ, hot dogs, sno cones, and fresh lemonade.

While all the activities were a lot of fun, one of the best parts of the evening was meeting so many new people. We welcomed a large number of first-time guests and heard from family after family how much they appreciated having free community events like this available in Sylvania.

That's one of the reasons we love hosting events like the Kids Block Party. They're a simple way to serve our community, create space for families to spend time together, and help people build new connections.

A huge thank you goes to the team who served throughout the evening. From setup and parking to games, food, registration, and cleanup, this event wouldn't happen without people who are willing to give their time to make it possible.
