At Five Lakes Church, we believe faith leads to action. Through our Outreach ministry, we partner with trusted organizations to meet real needs and serve communities in times of crisis. That calling took us to Douglas, Georgia, following Hurricane Helene.

After Hurricane Helene left Douglas and the surrounding Coffee County area devastated in the Fall of 2024, Five Lakes Church joined our friends with The Hope Initiative to launch Hope for Coffee, an effort to support recovery in the region.

Our second responders  team spent a week clearing trees so that power could be restored. After the initial clean up, a construction team built out The Hope Center to house construction teams that would ultimately complete Simms Park, a neighborhood of 8 new homes.

More recently, Five Lakes Church joined with our partners for a moving neighborhood dedication where homeowners finally returned to new, fully furnished homes. Each family received a Bible as well as keys to a fresh start.

The work that happened in Douglas, GA, showed what can be accomplished when the church, community, and civic leaders work together for the greater good!
